Cabomba furcata ‘Purple’

A very rare purple variant of Cabomba furcata, highly appreciated for its intense coloration and finely divided, delicate foliage.

Unlike the more common Cabomba furcata, which usually develops red, reddish brown, or copper tones, this particular variant shows a much stronger purple to deep violet coloration, especially under strong lighting and good nutrient availability.

This form is not commonly available in the commercial aquarium trade and is found mainly in the collections of specialized aquatic plant collectors. Because of its limited circulation and unusual coloration, it is considered a very rare collector’s plant.

The finely divided leaves form dense, elegant whorls around the stem, creating a soft and feathery appearance. The purple tones are particularly intense on the newest growth and can range from burgundy violet to vivid magenta purple depending on light intensity, CO₂, and fertilization.

For the best coloration, provide strong lighting, stable CO₂ and a complete fertilization regime with adequate micronutrients. It performs best in soft to moderately hard water and benefits from stable aquarium conditions.
