Eriocaulon cuspidatum – 1 pc
A rare and distinctive Eriocaulon native to western India. It develops a beautiful rosette of bright green, blade-like leaves growing outward from a central crown. Compared with many other Eriocaulon species, it produces broader, thicker leaves and can become a striking midground specimen.
CARE & WATER PARAMETERS
• Difficulty: Intermediate
• Growth: Slow
• Placement: Midground
• Height: Approx. 7–10+ cm
• Temperature: 20–26°C
• Water: Soft, preferably slightly acidic
• KH: Ideally below 2–5 dKH
• Light: Medium to high, 50+ PAR recommended
• CO₂: Recommended, approximately 20+ ppm
• Substrate: Nutrient-rich aquasoil strongly recommended
• Fertilisation: Strong root feeder; root fertilisation is beneficial
CULTIVATION
Plant deeply enough to secure the roots while keeping the central crown above the substrate. The plant can be quite buoyant when newly planted.
Eriocaulon cuspidatum develops an extensive root system and responds particularly well to a nutrient-rich substrate and root fertilisation. Soft water, stable CO₂ and good lighting encourage strong, compact growth.
Handle the plant carefully during planting and maintenance, as its thick, spongy leaves can be surprisingly delicate and may snap if bent.
In nature, Eriocaulon cuspidatum occurs in marshes, waterlogged areas and rice-field habitats in India.
