Hygrophila pinnatifida 'Crystal' is an exceptional mutant form of the classic species, distinguished by its semi-transparent, delicate leaves. This rare variation is the result of a spontaneous mutation that disrupts chlorophyll distribution, giving rise to a shimmering, glass-like texture. The veins remain visible while the rest of the leaf takes on a soft, translucent green – an effect that makes this plant a true gem for collectors.

To preserve its clear foliage, the plant must be grown under intense lighting (minimum 60 PAR), with stable CO₂ (20–30 ppm), soft acidic water (pH 5.5–6, GH 6–7, KH 2), and a complete fertilization regimen. In lower light, the transparency fades as chlorophyll production resumes.

Sold as adult, submerged-grown plants – no melting, no adaptation required. Limited pieces available due to the rarity and slow propagation of this mutation.
