Microsorum pteropus 'Orange Leaf' – 1 rhizome (5 cm, 4leaves)
Microsorum 'Orange Leaf' is a highly rare and visually unique Java fern cultivar, featuring leaves that develop amber to copper-orange tones under specific conditions. The leaves are medium-sized, elongated, and softly textured with a semi-translucent surface. The rhizome is firm and compact, and the plant forms a graceful silhouette when attached to wood or stone.
This fern prefers medium light (40–60 PAR); CO₂ is not required but enhances leaf color and health. Regular liquid fertilization with adequate potassium and micronutrients is important to maintain its warm coloration. Ideal water parameters: pH 5.5–7.5, GH 4–12, KH 2–6, conductivity 150–250 µS. Growth rate: slow to moderate. Do not bury the rhizome—always attach it to hardscape.
Adaptation: the rhizome is mature and fully aquatic. It does not melt and produces new leaves steadily within a few days of planting.
Rare fact: ‘Orange Leaf’ is the result of a natural color mutation and is still scarcely available worldwide.
A collector’s treasure for those seeking unique, warm-toned accents in a nature aquarium. Limited to a few specimens only.
