Utricularia australis is a free-floating carnivorous plant with a delicate, filamentous structure and a fascinating way of feeding: its tiny bladder traps catch microscopic aquatic prey, making it both beautiful and functional. It thrives in soft, slightly acidic water (pH 5.5–6, GH 6–7, KH 2), with medium to strong lighting. CO₂ injection and fertilization are optional but enhance growth and appearance. It does not root – it floats and drifts, so avoid placing it near strong filters.
