Xyris sp. ‘Red’ is a highly exclusive foreground or midground species that very few aquascapers in the world have even seen in person. Its fine, erect, grass-like leaves develop breathtaking crimson tones when grown under intense lighting and soft, mineral-poor water. Unlike most carpeting plants, it grows from a strong central root system and slowly spreads through short runners, forming elegant upright fans. Originating from the eastern U.S., it remains almost unobtainable in Europe.

I was one of the very first to import this variety to Italy after years of searching and testing. Each piece comes from my own carefully stabilized mother plants, grown under optimal conditions to achieve full coloration and perfect structure.

Xyris sp. ‘Red’ è una delle specie da primo o secondo piano più rare e ambite in assoluto: pochi appassionati nel mondo hanno avuto modo di vederla dal vivo. Le sue foglie sottili e verticali, simili a fili d’erba, assumono tonalità rosso cremisi sotto luce intensa e acqua tenera. Cresce lentamente, espandendosi tramite stoloni corti da una base robusta, formando ventagli ordinati ed eleganti.

Sono stato tra i primi a importarla in Italia, dopo anni di ricerca e selezione. I pezzi disponibili provengono direttamente dalle mie piante madri, coltivate in condizioni ideali per ottenere struttura e colorazione perfetta.

Xyris sp. ‘Red’ est une plante d’avant-plan ou de milieu parmi les plus rares et recherchées. Ses feuilles droites et fines, semblables à de l’herbe, prennent une teinte rouge profond sous une lumière intense et une eau très douce. Elle pousse lentement depuis une base racinaire solide, s'étendant par de courts stolons pour former des éventails structurés et élégants.

J’ai été parmi les tout premiers à l’introduire en Italie, après des années de recherche. Chaque spécimen provient de mes propres plantes mères stabilisées, cultivées dans des conditions idéales.

Xyris sp. ‘Red’ gehört zu den seltensten und exklusivsten Pflanzen für den Vorder- oder Mittelgrund im Aquascaping. Ihre feinen, aufrechten Blätter färben sich unter idealen Bedingungen intensiv rot – ein echter Hingucker. Sie wächst aus einem kräftigen Wurzelstock und bildet durch kurze Ausläufer strukturierte Fächer.

Ich war einer der ersten, der diese Pflanze nach Italien importiert hat – nach jahrelanger Suche und Auswahl. Alle angebotenen Exemplare stammen aus meinen stabilisierten Mutterpflanzen, gezüchtet unter optimalen Bedingungen.
